The interior of the newly renovated JW Marriott Auckland will provide a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city’s CBD.
Travelers and residents of Oceania to Auckland, New Zealand will enjoy the refreshed JW Marriott Auckland coming mid-2024. Announced on June 7, the property will begin the first phase of its NZD 25M (INR 1,26,29,61,941) renovation project, including new ideas for guest rooms.
Designed by Singapore-based international studio O37, the rooms will feature modern and luxurious décor that blends seamlessly with the hotel’s signature JW Marriott luxury, guided by the principle of care.
The recently renovated hotel is the first JW Marriott property in New Zealand, located in Auckland’s CBD. Its spacious rooms are known for their natural sunlight while encouraging guests to rejuvenate mind, body, and spirit with a five-star luxury hotel close to Auckland’s attractions.
Behind the inspiration of the JW Marriott Auckland
The design concept, inspired by the combination of old and new, revolves around the idea of ”beautiful beats,” where the interweaving of different elements results in a harmonious and calm living space. Each room with its sleek and smooth design – inspired by New Zealand’s natural environment – is comfortable and offers guests the chance to stay stylish and energizing.
Leonard Lee, Founder & Creative Director at O37 said, “The idea was born when I visited the hotel, and what came to mind was the story of a traveling poet who found his true love and a new beginning in Auckland. Like him, our goal with this hotel was to express reality. about the city, culture, art and music, and infuse it into every aspect of the place – drawing on the old and the new with the idea of a ‘beautiful beat’.”
Currently, the five-star luxury hotel has a total of 286 rooms. All of them will have JW’s signature new beds and smart TVs with Chromecast, and 40 will be renovated to a new design by September and booked to open later.
After this, the hotel will continue its transformation journey by renovating each area one at a time. A completion date for all rooms is set for mid-2024, with a complete renovation of the all-day dining restaurant, meeting rooms, and lobby, already planned.
Other amenities offered by the hotel include a gym, spa, sauna, and heated indoor swimming pool located on the top floor, which offers breathtaking views of the CBD and Auckland Harbor Bridge.
