A Scottish B&B ranked as one of the best in the world by TripAdvisor – the comprehensive list of luxury hotels

TripAdvisor has announced the winners of its Best Travel Hotel Awards 2023 and four Scottish destinations have been shortlisted.

At the beginning of summer, the travel website revealed the best hotels in the world, according to the ratings on its website. By analyzing 12 months of review data from more than 1.5 million hotels, TripAdvisor found that many Scottish hotels and B&Bs are among the best in the UK and beyond.

Among the categories in the competition that includes Scottish accommodation are luxury hotels, luxury hotels, small luxury hotels, and luxury B&Bs. Scotland fared best in the final, with Torlinnhe Guest House in Fort William named the 11th best B&B in the world.

Located at the foot of Ben Nevis in the North West Highlands, the guest house has views of Loch Linne and the Ardgour Mountains. With over 1,000 ‘good’ reviews on TripAdvisor, it is also ranked fifth in the UK and seventh in Europe.

Meanwhile, the family-owned Green Park Hotel in Pitlochry is ranked 12th in the UK’s best hotels for 2023. Located about 30 kilometers from Perth, guests at the hotel have chosen its staff and food as “second to none”.

In addition, Scotland scored several winners in the top luxury hotels and small luxury groups. Ivybank Lodge in Blairgowrie and Glencoe House in Glencoe both appeared in the UK top 10 for the first time, placing fourth and sixth respectively.

In the Top Small Hotels category, Tigh na Sgiath Country House Hotel in the hamlet of Skye or Curr, Ivybank Lodge, Glenshieling House in Blairgowrie, and Fingal in Edinburgh are all in the top 10 in the UK, fifth, sixth, ninth , and the tenth respectively.
