AIDA Cruises has announced that it will soon open new healthy food restaurants on three of its ships, following a growing number of cruise passengers looking for fresh and plant-based meals. The line, which targets the German market, already offers vegetarian options in some restaurants and specialty restaurants.
New Restaurants Open on Three Ships
Starting June 24, 2023, passengers on three AIDA ships will be able to dine at the new a la carte restaurant, called Soulkitchen, where they can enjoy sustainable meals made from fresh and plant-based ingredients. The venue will open for 3,900 guests AIDAnova3,286 visitors AIDAPearland 3,300 visitors Image of AIDA.
The new location will be open for breakfast and dinner, offering a three-course dinner featuring vegetarian and vegan meats and seafood such as lemongrass coconut soup, almond barley risotto with apple and herb herbs, and crème brûlée. Vegan breakfasts can be combined with many organic juices.

“We are proud to create another modern offering with Soulkitchen and we are also responding to the needs of our guests. With our modern and sustainable concept, we aim not only to promote healthy eating, but also to create a unique experience,” Said Rene Thiersch, AIDA Cruises Senior Manager of Culinary Operations.
Thiersch is Soulkitchen’s co-creator and project manager, and is a former executive chef. He said the opening of the center was a special moment for him.
“We were able to implement conversions and improvements on the board while the project was in progress due to good planning and a well-coordinated team,” he said.

A demonstration kitchen in the middle of the restaurant will allow visitors to watch the chefs prepare their food, and there will also be opportunities to learn, during cooking classes and workshops that Soulkitchen will offer. In addition, seminars at the new location will introduce visitors to oils, essences, herbs, and spices.
New Location Expands Legacy Offerings on AIDA Cruises
AIDA Cruises, in 2022, released vegan options in a la carte and special places, including vegan desserts, main dishes such as grilled meats and burgers, and desserts. It also added a vegan breakfast menu at that time, creating its own unique plant-based products such as vegan butter and organic spreads.

The line expanded that offering in March 2023, when it added 15 vegetarian dishes to its Market Restaurant buffets. AIDAcosma, AIDAPearl, Image of AIDA and AIDAnova. Vegetarian food is marked with a green symbol. AIDA Cruises has not revealed whether Soulkitchen will be added to other ships of the line’s 13 ships.
Animal Choices Growing on the Move
AIDA Cruises, one of the Opinions of the company Carnival Corporation, is not the only one that caters to the growing number of vacationers who eat plant-based foods. Almost every major cruise line has vegan offerings on its ship menus, in main dining rooms and special areas, and at buffets.
Since 2019, Carnival Cruise Line has offered a selection of vegan burgers at the famous Guy’s Burger Joint, free space on every Carnival Cruise Line ship. Royal Caribbean ships have vegetarian options in their main dining rooms every night, while Cunard offers a night-only vegan menu with dishes such as Vegan Mushroom Stroganoff and Pilaf Rice, and Vegan Pizza.
Small tours are also rising on the vegan bandwagon. Windstar Cruises this month is making a vegan menu on all six of its ships. The selection of ingredients and smoothies on the vegan menu was developed in cooperation with the National Health Association.
