Management Company of the Year and Shining Apple Awards
Recipients of Apple Hospitality’s Management Company of the Year and Shining Apple Awards are selected based on relevant metrics, which measure each hotel’s performance across all aspects of the hotel, including, but not limited to, financial metrics, market performance. and guest service results. Each management company and individual hotel are selected according to their volume. The company uses scorecards to identify and share best practices for its hotels to improve their operations. The company has the opportunity to offer the following Apple Awards:

2022 Management Company of the Year Award – NCG Hospitality. The award is given to the management company that ranks highest among Apple Hospitality’s third-party management companies based on annual card count metrics. NCG Hospitality is the winner of the 2022 Management Company of the Year Award for its achievements in all key performance measures throughout the year. This is the fourth time that NCG Hospitality has received this award. NCG Hospitality, based in Middleton, Wisconsin, currently manages nine of the Company’s hotels.

2022 Annual Bright Apple Awards – Hampton Inn & Suites Huntsville/Research Park Area. This award is presented to the hotel that ranks highest among the Company’s hotels based on annual card readership metrics. Hampton Inn & Suites Huntsville/Research Park Area is the recipient of the 2022 Annual Shining Apple Award for excellence in all performance measures and strong annual performance. The Company’s Hampton Inn & Suites in Huntsville, Alabama, is managed by LBA Hospitality, and the hotel’s General Manager is Neal Obert.

2022 Quarterly Shining Apple Awards. Apple Hospitality is also pleased to present the Quarterly Shining Apple Awards to the hotel(s) with the highest quarterly ranking based on card balance metrics. Considering how the industry changed in the first quarter of 2022, the Company decided to select the winners of the Shining Apple Award for the first half of 2022.

Alicia Clements – Alicia works as an Assistant General Manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Oceanside in Oceanside, California, which is managed by Managed by Marriott. A true leader, Alicia excels at embracing challenges and working with her team to drive positive results. In 2022, Alicia held regular meetings with her staff to initiate collaboration and engage all working groups. These meetings focus on ways to improve performance, including creating a program to recognize and thank the hotel’s loyal guests. Alicia’s leadership has been invaluable; in 2022, the appreciation of the guests, the number of services and the results of the survey of the partners improved, and the hotel continued to sell all the offers and achieved strong results. The hotel always receives positive comments from guests regarding Alicia’s friendliness and hospitality.

Eva Gonzalez – Eva serves as a Room Attendant at Homewood Suites and Hilton Raleigh-Durham AP/Research Triangle in Durham, North Carolina, managed by McKibbon Hospitality. Beloved, Eva greets everyone with a warm smile and a positive, encouraging attitude no matter how difficult her day may be. He always gives the same warm greeting and doesn’t let anyone pass him without acknowledging it. In addition to her kind, glowing personality, her cleaning and tidying skills are excellent. Eva always supports her teammates and helps them with extra shifts. They show a spirit of hospitality, willing to help others.

Beatrice King – Beatrice serves as a Guest Services Representative at the Hilton Garden Inn Macon/Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, which is managed by LBA Hospitality. A reliable team member, Beatrice is always willing to take on additional tasks, take on additional responsibilities and support other departments. He is instrumental in enrolling guests in the Hilton Honors program and was the top enroller during Hilton’s on-property enrollment promotion. Beatrice is very considerate of guests, taking the time to understand why they are traveling and making frequent visits to hotel guests to help their loved ones at nearby hospitals.

Angela “Angie” Mago – Angie is the Director of Sales at the Hampton Inn & Suites Portland-Pearl District in Portland, Oregon, which is managed by Raymond Management Company. Angie is a professional host, making everyone happy. From his early departure day, he visits with team members in all departments, including the breakfast team where he makes sure to get to know the hotel’s business travelers. A true team player, she is willing to work in different departments to support the team from breakfast and the front desk to laundry and housekeeping, setting an example of teamwork. Angie recognizes and supports her teammates through kind actions, words of appreciation and encouraging notes. She also serves the Portland community by volunteering her time each week to beautify and clean Portland’s Pearl District.

Dedicated to her work, La Donna has been a partner at Courtyard Wichita East since before the hotel opened. He is a reliable team player, willing to work across departments, putting in extra time to manage catering, meetings and team breakfasts, and running the Bistro above and beyond. Exemplifying the spirit of hospitality, she takes great pride in her work and goes out of her way to make sure guests are taken care of and feel at home. La Donna is the sunshine of the hotel guests as they wait for their morning coffee and receives many compliments from the guests.
