Business review site Yelp gave the Bottleworks Hotel in downtown Indianapolis the top spot on its list of the “100 Best Places to Live in 2023,” which it released Wednesday.
This list features the world’s best hotels, lodges, campgrounds, inns and resorts based on ratings and reviews from Yelp users.
Yelp said the hotel — which it called a “soda-bottling factory turned tech hub in a reimagined city district — earned its No. 1 ranking because it offers more options than a typical hotel.”
“According to Yelp reviews, the hotel at 850 Massachusetts Ave. makes guests feel welcome, and has excellent on-site amenities, including a movie theater, children’s playground, spa & yoga studio, and a great cocktail bar, Yelp said about Bottleworks.
The 139-room Bottleworks Hotel opened in 2020 in the Bottleworks District.
The only other Indiana lodging choice to make the list was the Ironworks Hotel Indy, which came in at No. 27. The 120-room hotel at 2721 E. 86th St. it is managed by the Geronimo Hospitality Group, which also operates the Bottleworks Hotel.
Yelp said they used a number of factors to create their list, including overall ratings and reviews between January 2021 and May 2023.
