Crystal Cruises, one of the world’s top cruise lines, is relaunching this summer under new ownership after a cruise that has been put on charter in 2021.
A&K Travel Group is relaunching Crystal Cruises under the name, Crystal – Exceptional at Sea. The first return voyage will be on Celebrity Serenity on July 31, 2023. The ship is undergoing renovations ahead of the first return voyage.
The cruise ship will arrive at Port Everglades beginning in November 2024. These cruises will be announced later this year and will be part of the 2025 cruises.
“We are excited to return to Port Everglades,” said Vice President of Port Operations & Itinerary Planning Spyros Almpertis. “More than 3 million tourists depart from Fort Lauderdale each year, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to choose them in search of unique sailing opportunities.”
“Crystal is a natural fit for Port Everglades and will complement our growing high-quality team,” said CEO and Port Director Jonathan Daniels. “Port Everglades is already known as a major cruise port, and luxury lines are finding that our facilities are more than ready to welcome cruise ships and discerning visitors.”
The ship is currently undergoing repairs in Trieste, Italy. When the 740-passenger ship debuts in July, the additions will include larger, updated staterooms with state-of-the-art furnishings, state-of-the-art amenities and a redesigned space.
Guests will also find a new look for the specialty restaurants Umi Uma and Osteria d’Ovidio along with a new pickleball court, refreshing entertainment and activities, and an advanced ratio of space for guests (1 to 93.1 cubic feet).
