Disney Cruise Line Debuts New Features Bringing Worlds of Fantasy “Encanto” and “Soul” to the Disney Magic.
From the magical mountains of Colombia to the crowded streets of New York City, the beautiful worlds of two of Disney’s most beloved films – Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” and Disney and Pixar’s “Soul” – have come to life for the first time. cruises and new family-friendly experiences on the Disney Magic line.
In addition to the entertainment of “Encanto” – and the “Soul” lounge, the ship’s accommodation was rethought with new themes and a major renovation during a three-week dry project in Freeport, The Bahamas.
“Festival of Encanto” Brings the Madrigal Family to the Great Lakes for the First Time
Guests can join the fun Madrigal family during the new “An Encanto Celebration,” designed to bring families together through music, art, and storytelling. The experience gives guests the chance to meet and take pictures with Mirabel and her relative, Bruno, during their first Disney Cruise Line cruise.
Families can also join in on the merry-go-round with the beloved “Encanto” songs. They can also create art with butterflies and flowers inspired by the film. At the show, guests can get a real taste of South America thanks to a selection of Colombian beers, cocktails, and sodas along with movie-inspired mocktails.
New Soul Cat Lounge Hits the Right Note for Evening Entertainment
The heartfelt story of “Soul” was the inspiration for the new Soul Cat Lounge. The design is reminiscent of Joe Gardner’s favorite place from the movie, the Half Note Lounge. The bar, located on the third floor next to Rapunzel’s Royal Table restaurant, instantly transports guests to a New York jazz club.
Decor like brick walls, wood accents, and lots of leather chairs near the live music stage decorate the place. Therefore, guests can grab their partner and head to the dance floor to have fun every evening.
The Soul Cat Lounge features Pixar-themed artwork from the movie including posters, concert posters, and photos of jazz legend Dorothea Williams and her cast members. More inspired by “Life” – including record players, instruments, and Joe’s hat.
Adults can enhance their big city skills with tableside Manhattans and martinis or choose from a wide variety of New York-inspired spirits. An exciting collection of mocktails, specialty coffees and sodas are also on the menu.
In addition to the new drink options, guests can have a bite in Little Italy with an order of zeppoles, Italian pastries that resemble a fried doughnut, while enjoying live music.
Redesigned Concierge Retreats Offer an Elevated Experience
For guests looking for maximum comfort and service at sea, the concierge center aboard the Disney Magic has received several enhancements. The concierge lounge has been reimagined and expanded to feature a new stylish theme and warm color palette inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Moana”.
In addition, it has an additional 10-lane outdoor seating area where guests can relax with a refreshing drink while enjoying the ocean breeze.
All of the concierge suites, including one and two bedrooms and two signature king suites, have also been updated to include new fixtures, furniture, and beautiful artwork.
Shore energy technology was also installed as part of the ship’s operation, continuing Disney Cruise Line’s long-standing commitment to reducing its impact on the environment. When located in port, this will allow the Disney Magic to “plug” into the port’s power grid, reducing the ship’s emissions.
The Disney Magic is currently sailing the first of three cruises from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Beginning May 24, the ship will return to Miami for summer cruises to The Bahamas and the Caribbean including a “Silver Anniversary at Sea” celebration in honor of Disney Cruise Line’s 25th anniversary. This fall, the Disney Magic heads west for its first season out of San Diego.
