BANGKOK – Small Hotels, a hotel owner, operator and investor, has announced the appointment of Giles Selves as Vice President of Luxury Hotels Europe. In this important role, Giles is responsible for driving the strategic and strategic marketing of the brand and improving the guest experience, excellence and supporting the growth and development of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas and Tivoli Hotels & Resorts in Europe as a group. Having joined Minor Hotels in 2015 where he spent many years managing Anantara properties in Thailand, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Giles is now responsible for ensuring the establishment of the Anantara and Tivoli brands and delivering an unparalleled guest experience for the group. history in Europe.
Before moving to Europe, Giles spent almost 5 years in the Maldives, first as General Manager at a popular resort. Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villasbefore being promoted to Cluster General Manager of Anantara Dhigu, Anantara Veli and Naladhu Private Islandsand monitor again Anantara Kihavah and pre-opening for Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort. After being 19 years old and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Giles took the F&B route into hotel management. Starting in hotels in London and Scotland before moving on to work in F&B at the company’s headquarters in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Giles spent 5 years overseeing all aspects of F&B development before returning to Greece. In 2011, Giles moved to Thailand as a Hotel Manager to open St. Regis Bangkok, the site of Minor Hotels. Then he went to the General Manager at Keraton at the PlazaLuxury Hotel Collection, in Jakarta, before returning to Thailand in 2015 as GM for Small Hotels and Anantara.
Throughout his career, Giles has been consistently recognized for his strong leadership skills, sound business vision and ability to foster a positive and collaborative culture across communities. Giles’ approach to hospitality ensures that all guests leave the property with memories to last a lifetime, a sentiment that goes hand-in-hand with Anantara’s commitment to the hallmarks of the discerning traveler.
As Executive Vice President of Luxury Hotels Europe for Small Resorts, Giles is responsible for the expansion of Anantara Europe, which currently has eight properties. They work closely with Senior Management, operational teams and corporate support services, to ensure that the highest standards of service, quality, and brand consistency are maintained in all aspects and to seek future opportunities to raise Anantara’s brand awareness and knowledge.
