A luxury hotel near Ripon has been shortlisted for an award that will name the UK’s best hotel.
Grantley Hall has been named as a finalist in the ‘Best UK Hotel’ category by the Times and Sunday Times Travel Awards.
The awards, now in their tenth year, aim to recognize the best accommodation, airlines, cruises, hotels and travel companies.
The individual category lists were created based on feedback from readers and suggestions from travel writers and editors of The Times and The Sunday Times.
Last year, more than 270,000 votes were cast in 120 places by companies to find the best in the business.

Grantley Hall near Ripon has been nominated for the ‘best hotel in the UK’ award.
Grantley Hall is the only hotel in Yorkshire to make the final list of 15 places.
Among the finalists are Callow Hall in Derbyshire, The Retreat at Elcot Park in Berkshire and Birch in Hertfordshire.
How to vote
Voters are invited to comment on the best hotel in the country – and the award offers a number of voting prizes such as a week in the Maldives, a short break at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Hotel Belmond, or three nights at a beach resort in Andalusia.
Grantley Hall said he would “really appreciate any support” he receives, with the deadline for votes on Thursday 3 August 2023.
