The status of “guest extras” is not disclosed. Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve first received visitors in December 2019and, of course, it was not visited during the economic pandemic from mid-March 2020 until reopening to visitors in the summer of 2021.

Options for Disruptive Travel
Travelers on one of the many flights affected by the closure have several options to choose from. Many tours are replaced with new itineraries, and guests can stay on the modified itineraries that are not visiting Ocean Cay. There is nothing to do if guests choose to stay on a reservation.
Passengers can also choose to travel on any comparable MSC Cruises summer 2024 cruise, of the same length and type of accommodation, between April 1 and October 31, 2024, without penalty.

The best price will be honored – whether it’s the price of the original cruise or a new cruise, whichever is lower. Because Ocean Cay will be closed for several weeks, this gives visitors the opportunity to reschedule their trip to still visit the popular island.
The second option is to transfer to any other MSC Cruises cruise, on any ship or day. There will be no transfer fees, but existing cruise fares will apply and guests will need to pay the new fare (minus the transfer fee). Third, guests can simply cancel their vacation for a full refund, without penalties.

Some travelers have also found their trips canceled or extended at different lengths because all of these trips – more than 35 in total – have been changed. Long-haul passengers will not be charged for the additional length of their journey.
