When travelers start booking their summer vacation, the first two questions that always come to mind are, “Where are we going?” and “Where do we live?”
With 50 states in the US, there are plenty of places to visit for the first time, revisits and hidden gems to explore.
Travel + Leisure recently released an article on “The Top 10 New Resorts in the US” and what do you think? A New Jersey hotel made the list!
But first, what are the best places to visit in the US?

Taking first place was Nick’s Cove in Marshall, California.
According to Travel + Leisure, this 1930s fishing shack-turned-getaway sits on the shores of Tomales Bay, 50 miles northwest of San Francisco.
12 homes with new updates in 2022, complete with ocean-inspired wallpaper, antique clawfoot tubs, hot-tiled bathrooms, wood-burning stoves, and plush beds.
Nick’s has become a favorite destination for day-trippers and travelers from around the world. With so many new and local favorites, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
At the restaurant, enjoy favorites like grilled Tomales Bay oysters with barbecue sauce or macaroni and cheese stuffed with Dungeness crab.
For dessert, there’s warm pear bread (golden raisins, salted caramel, and whipped cream), and S’mores torte (flourless chocolate cake, toasted marshmallows, and house graham).
Work off those calories by strolling along Nick’s private pier.
Activities include paddleboarding, kayaking, and bocce ball, as well as hiking, hiking, or simply enjoying the gardens and music on site. There are also cheese and farm tours, fishing, and in-room massages.

Coming in at number 10 on the list (not the best place considering all the new resorts available in the country) is Canoe Place Inn & Cottages in Hampton Bays, New York.
Anyone who has been to the Hamptons at the end of Long Island knows that this is a waterfront destination full of luxury homes, rentals, and luxury hotels.
The six-acre Canoe Place Inn & Cottages is located on the site of the oldest homestead in the US, according to Travel + Leisure.
The Canoe area has been reimagined and redesigned for new guests.
The 20 rooms feature deep green carpeting, botanical wallpaper, wood-burning fireplaces, claw-foot bathtubs, and private balconies, not to mention king-size beds with fine Italian linens, and exclusive Costa Brazil bathtubs.
There are five houses ranging from one to four bedrooms. All have back rooms, fireplaces, outdoor showers, and wraparound porches.
Dine at the Good Ground Tavern, known for its Mediterranean dishes such as wood-fired Montauk bass, and lobster roll crostini.
Pamper yourself at the Onda spa, founded by actress Naomi Watts, with a massage or facial.
Enjoy wine tasting by the fire on the lawn, new outdoor pool, outdoor fishing, and more.

Hitting the middle of the list and commanding five places as the best new vacation spots in the US is the Jersey Shore.
The James Bradley in Bradley Beach, Monmouth County is a 17-room hotel that opened in August 2022, just a short distance from the boardwalk.
The hotel tells a visual story that crosses the space through the use of art, objects and design, according to the website.
Owner George DiStefano, along with friend and interior designer, Sebastian Zuchowicki, reimagined the 1904 residence as a museum with a residential feel.
So, two sets of furniture from eBay, Etsy, and flea markets, as well as places as far away as Paris. Some of the tools were made by local artisans.
Each room is unique and has its own story. The warm feet of the beach promote the calm and serenity that draws so many people to the Jersey Shore.

The ocean floor bungalow has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen with two bedrooms. Enjoy outdoor dining as well.
All rooms have toiletries from Flamingo Estate and baskets of locally cooked food.
Guests are invited to the garden for a breakfast full of coffee and tea, fresh fruit, yogurts, homemade cereal, toast, local bread, coconut French Toast with fruit, and a classic Jersey sandwich made with pork roll, egg , and cheese.
Book a massage or other treatment in the luxurious spa room. Go to any of the nearby beach towns for fun, or just relax on a lounge chair at the hotel, under an umbrella enjoying a relaxing view of the sea, breathing in the fresh salty air.
