Princess Cruises has just announced a number of exciting new additions to the Sun Princess, the world’s largest cruise ship that will launch in October 2024.
Park19 will be the new family area on top of the ship and will include several firsts for a Princess cruise ship.

Some of the nine things that will prepare multiracial families include: the first permanent oval experience on a ship.
Sea Breeze and a Rollglider that straps passengers in, allowing them to glide around an elevated track at speeds up to 11 mph. The second floor 60 – 90 will also be ADA accessible.
“Park19 as the name suggests is a new destination designed for all of our guests, including activities that bring together multi-generational traveling families in spectacular scenery and outdoor fun for all,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises. “The new location was designed based on guest feedback to provide more space for families and groups.”

Some of the features available on the upper levels of the Sun Princess will include: Sailingseveral obstacles that are 19 and 20 and allow visitors to enjoy the high views from The Lookoutobservation deck which is the most luxurious place that the passengers of the train have.
Rope lessons called Net will be located on deck 19 which will include columns, cargo nets, and floating bridges for visitors to walk high above the Court of Pleasure which will include ping pong, shuffleboard, and a variety of games and exercises throughout the tour.
To help multi-generational families stay together Princess has also included a Splash Zone for the younger riders there will be pop jets and a water sculpture.
Around Park19 will be a Speedway with 6.7 laps per mile. But for those who just want to relax while the rest of the family takes part in the surrounding activities there will be a Hammock Place, which is as the name suggests.
“These additions give young sailors more to explore and enjoy on Sun Princess, making it a great family experience for everyone regardless of age,” added Padgett.
Sun Princess is being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. The 175,500 capacity ship will be the largest in the Princess fleet and will be able to carry 4,300 guests. The ship will feature a first-of-its-kind entertainment space called The Dome, which will also serve as a lounge and dining area in the Horizons Restaurant.
