On South Miami Avenue, in the vibrant business and leisure district of Brickell, one finds a rare piece of architecture. SLS Brickell Hotel & Residences. Showcasing the design expertise of Philippe Starck, and the luxury of Miami designed by SLS, this property is the place to be in Miami’s financial and entertainment hub.
Brickell is Miami’s Manhattan, a collection of elegant apartments, commercial buildings, luxury condominiums and luxury hotels. It is undoubtedly one of our favorite parts of the city, a trendy district with amazing shopping, Brickell City Center, cool bars, clubs and other popular places to hang out.
We were here to discover the SLS Brickell Hotel & Residences, with interiors by designer Philippe Starck, inspired by a vibrant vibe that can only be found in Miami. The rooms and suites have elegant, luxurious interiors, while the resort features a stunning Altitude pool, a signature Italian restaurant, and the Ciel lounge and large fitness room.

The house is decorated with works of art, from the tree that looks like sculptures outside the entrance of the house, by the Spanish artist Ester Partegas, to the largest paintings in the house. This unique project, created in collaboration with architect Jorge. M. Perez, with the German artist Markus Linnenbrink. He describes it as a group of different colors that are painted and dripped in sequence around the building. It makes a mark in Brickell.

Inside the design continues, with original digital artwork on the ceiling of the entrance and inside the lobby. However, it is the host group that makes the impression. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a parking lot, and when I needed to get out, they arranged for me to be escorted to my destination in a Lincoln House courtesy car.

Eating
Dining options include the elegant Italian restaurant, Fi’lia, with its signature wood-fired oven for delicious pizzas and delicious smoky dishes. Above the lobby there is an intimate Lounge, elevated and relaxed, a place for cocktails and people watching, while enjoying the wonderful weather, choose the Altitude Pool and Lounge, with great views, DJ music and good food and drinks.

Altitude Pool and Lounge
Open from sunrise to sunset, this amazing spa is reason enough to stay at the SLS Brickell Hotel & Residences. The team is among the friendliest people I’ve met in the city, motivated to make your stay unforgettable. The space is airy, whether you’re soaking up the sun by the pool, cooling off in the hot tubs or relaxing in the shade of a private cabana. The open-air side of the pool overlooks downtown Miami – and offers a spectacular view.

There is a dedicated service by the pool, serving cocktails and soft drinks, small bites and dishes from the grill as well as items from the beautiful Fi’lia restaurant downstairs. There is nothing better than kicking back with chilled champagne and Italian snacks, enjoying the music and the Florida sunshine – this is the life!
The designs have Philippe Starck’s signature, from the bold lines of the sunbeds to the oversized vases. Miami’s iconic art scene is named after a giant duck, which in conjunction with the annual Miami Basel festival, gets an annual update by a guest artist.
The spa and fitness center are also on this level.

Filia
Italian cooking is undoubtedly one of the most famous in the world, and in F’ilia they offer authentic flavors and modern dishes cooked with love, using the freshest ingredients, and the best. This is what happened in Fi’lia.
The restaurant has a pleasant Mediterranean vibe, with large windows that let the light flood in. The open kitchen is where the chefs cook over the fire and charcoal, creating high quality Italian and Mediterranean fare. This is a place that serves all day dining from breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Start the day with Soft Scramble Cacio e Pepe, with eggs, black pepper, pecorino romano, on toasted ciabatta. Looking for a delicious lunch, then consider wood fired pizza. Dinner expands to include a delicious truffle and mushroom risotto, fried seafood, and meat dishes such as rack of lamb or tomahawk steak.
