Ubiquitous cans of snacks and small bottles of beer could be a thing of the past as Kimpton Blythswood Square, Glasgow’s only five-star hotel, launches ‘Be Well’ – a new wellness package that bids farewell to the traditional hotel. Instead, you’ll find things that are mushrooming, based on the latest trends in travel and lifestyle.
Yes, there are mushrooms among us.
The offering, which includes kombucha to improve gut health and iodine-rich water capsules, is a response to guests who prioritize health and wellness. A study from McKinsey in 2022 found that health is very important to 50% of consumers, reaching “important” for 81%.
24-hour amenities include ‘Shroom Service’ (available on request), which is believed to be the first of its kind. Guests will have the opportunity to start their day with Four Sigmatic’s Think Organic Coffee and finish with a relaxing cup of Calm Organic Cacao Mix at bedtime, all expertly combined with cultivated mushrooms to help turn daily rituals into moments. goodness. A spokesperson for Four Sigmatic said: “Four Sigmatic mushroom coffees start with real, Arabic coffee from a Honduran co-op, to ensure that the coffee is sweet and delicious. Then we add a strong dose of inactive mushrooms. The result is a cup of coffee. which retains its flavor but also improves concentration, energizes, and helps relieve stress. It wakes up your mind.”
Functional mushrooms have become very popular in the health industry, a ‘shroom boom’ that has seen them hailed as the next CBD. Proven to support healthy cognition, this potent non-toxic, non-psychoactive mushroom also offers many other benefits such as mood enhancement, increased energy, and increased focus, among others.
Next to the hotel’s ‘Shroom Service’, the Wellness Minibar celebrates the little things including You + I kombucha, CBD tincture by Puresport and Weed & Wonderful iodine capsules.
The offering comes as the iconic resort is introducing an elevated ‘Wellness’ era in response to the desire for self-care, ahead of the relaunch of the hotel’s award-winning spa.
This package offers guests access to the spa from the comfort of their hotel room and ishga (sea salt) bath amenities, including invigorating body oils and Hebridean salt water.
To deal with muscle tension and clouded thoughts, ishga yoga and Swelling of sound can also be found in each room, in addition to yoga, exercise ball and foam rollers to help guests feel better.
Finlay Anderson, Spa Director at Kimpton Blythswood Square and Area Spa Director of IHG (InterContinental Hotel Group) said: “It’s time to get healthy. People are prioritizing self-care more than ever, especially since the pandemic. Many guests want to return from the hotel. they’re feeling much better than when they arrived – and we want to provide a place to ensure that they have a healthy lifestyle that meets those needs.”
“Introducing our Stay Well package sets the tone for what’s to come before we relaunch the Spa at Blythswood Square. We encourage guests to take care of their bodies and minds and make the most of their time. The Stay Well package offers you a way to escape from everyday life, and time reformatory.”
And without a doubt, one needs such self-care after a day of flying, and experiencing the “pains” of travel.
Kimpton Blythswood Square was named one of the UK’s top 30 hotels outside of London Conde Nast Traveler’s 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards.
The landmark is Glasgow’s only hotel with five-star accreditation, and features beautiful Georgian architecture and benefits from its own private gardens at the front door.
Stay Well and ‘Shroom Service’ packages are available to book now at the Kimpton Blythswood Square hotel. Rooms start at $234 Bed & Breakfast plus VAT, plus an additional $140 for the Stay Well package.
