Disney Cruise Line is in the process of turning the classic Global Dream into a new addition to its fleet, but it has been monitoring the progress since it bought the ship from the troubled Genting Hong Kong.
With no new information released by Disney Cruise Line, many are wondering what will be Disney Cruise Line’s largest ship.
Seeing Inside
Speculation has been rife about the status of Disney’s newest ship, the former “Global Dream.” Since Disney Cruise Line announced the purchase of the ship at the end of November 2022, the government information has been limited. Disney did not respond to media inquiries, saying only that there is no further information available at this time.
We know that the ship will be launched in Singapore from 2025. However, apart from that, the information provided by Disney has been lacking.
However, the German case, Ostsee Zeitung, recently obtained exclusive photos of the train under construction. The shipyard opened the doors of the main building hall to let in some fresh air, showing a picture of the 342 meter long ship.

The new Disney ship, which has yet to be named, is being built at the MV Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany, under the direction of Meyer Werft.
This company made it Disney dreamsDisney Fantasy, and Disney Wish at Meyer Werft in Papenburg and is currently building two additional Wish-class ships – Disney Treasures and another sister ship scheduled to depart in 2025, in Papenburg.
380 construction workers have also started work on the ship. The ship already has the dark blue color scheme that matches Disney ships and the gold stripes that have already been painted, hinting at the exciting changes to come. The characters for “Global Dream” and the Chinese translation have been removed.

Creating the past Global Dream has been disturbed by difficulties, including failure of the previous owner. When the German government took control of the ship, things did not go well for the 380 crew members.
It is not surprising that Heiko Messerschmidt from the IG Metall Küste trade union expressed relief and satisfaction with the construction progress. words: “We are happy that things are moving now, that our friends on the ship are back to work.”

Disney Cruise Line has previously said that the redesigned ship will offer more dining and family dining, selling to the Asian market from its port in Singapore. The ship, which is expected to carry about 6,000 guests and 2,300 crew members, weighs 208,000 tons.

“As part of our 100th anniversary celebration, Disney Cruise Line is expanding with new ships and new destinations. We are very excited to make Singapore the home port of our seventh ship, which will sail here year-round starting in 2025.”
From Singapore, the new Disney cruise ship can go to Asian destinations, such as Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, China, Japan, or India, depending on the length of the trip and the type of trip.
Although its features are still closed, it is expected that the train, designed to serve the Asian market, will offer a unique look that appeals to the same audience. The project underscores Disney Cruise Line’s desire to create magical cruises that exceed guests’ wildest dreams.
