PO’IPU – Whalers Cove general manager Marianne Martin said the phone was bombarded with phone calls following the Howard’s Business Reports broadcast over the weekend.
“I’m from Honolulu, and there were a lot of people who saw the report,” Martin said. “They all wanted to compliment the hotel.”
“There were only five hotels in the state that ranked among the top hotels in the Howard Dicus report,” Martin said. “And, only one hotel on the island of Kaua’i made the list – Whalers Cove in Po’ipu! We were No. 12 in the Small Hotel category.
Other sites that make Howard’s list include Halekulani which finished No. 7 in the category of Luxury Hotel and No. 16 on the General Hotel list. Mauna Lani finished No. 16 in the Luxury Hotel category, Trump Hotels finished No. 20 on the Top Hotel list, and Kai Mana finished No. 23 on the General Hotel list.
Howard’s award comes less than two weeks after Trip Advisor’s award named Whalers Cove to its category of Excellence.
“We have been receiving the Trip Advisor Award Excellent (honor) since 2010,” said Martin. “This is only the third time that we have reached the Certificate of Excellence category. This means we are in the top 100 Trip Advisor award winners. “
